Economic Calendar: marketwatch.com/economy-politi...
  • What’s with yet another week with Fed Presidents….talking….everywhere.
  • Tuesday we’ve got Fed Harker and Bostic, Harker is only one during market hours (10:45am EST)
  • Wednesday the ADP report could be another comical ‘correction’ with itself or vary widely from the BLS number.  Does anybody pay attention to this anymore?  Fed Barkin at 0915am EST
  • Thursday - some economic data that matters - PCE at 0830am EST - this will move the market.  This will continue to show inflation going up.
  • Friday - Fed Williams at 1pm EST
  • I believe we’ll continue to see the doves become hawks.  They’re projecting out a clear message for May.

  • McCormick is a standalone public company?  Did not know that.
  • Nothing interesting this week.  WSB meme team might have fun with Blackberry on Thursday.  YOLO earnings? 🤡

Thoughts
  • The Fed Presidents being out in droves is projecting a lot about May.  I think we’re looking at 0.50% hike then.  The market gave no shits about the 0.25%, they came out as hawks after, so I think they’re going to try to push it farther and see what the market can take.
  • We should hear some more direct plans about the balance sheet reduction (the real boogie man)
  • SA had a good commentary: "Investors are taking Powell's transparency as a step further to say 'he's just preparing us for the worst,' whereas, the bond market is saying, 'no, no, he's telling you he's going to do at least seven [rate hikes], and you aren't listening,'" said Shannon Saccocia, chief investment officer at Boston Private. "For the long term, 2.3% on the 10-year is not such a high figure at all," added Linda Duessel, senior equity strategist at Federated Hermes. "What spooks the market is when you have very quick moves, such as what we're having now."
  • I’m with Mr. Bond Market on this one - the market isn’t listening.
  • But hey, it’s not May yet, so party on, Wayne.
  • Biden made some unscripted remarks about Putin that got everybody wound up and sent his PR team scrambling.  We’ll see how Putin takes it this week. https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/26/politics/biden-warsaw-saturday/index.html
  • TRADE: Crypto - I picked up some SOL-USD just under 103 on Sunday afternoon.  I tried and failed to buy at a neat 100, so chased it.  It’s a 110 as I write this, so no complaints here.  I’m a big fan of the tech and the token is a wild one to trade as well - looking for 117 (100 MA) to exit for now.
  • LAC 24 to 34 in just a few days.  Bravo!  I’ll wait for a pullback (it’s well into overbought zone now) to ride this pony again.
  • I did some charting over the weekend - https://stonks.chat/group/7/posts/295 - some ideas I’ll be trading in upcoming weeks. AKAM stands out the most.
  • Next up I’m going to be looking at security plays and natural gas plays (on Maverick tip).  CTRA and FCG were the main takeaways.
  • Commodities: Going higher this week.  No change in Ukraine/Russia situation.
  • TSLA will report monthly deliveries at the end of the week - will probably see some midweek movement and some action on those Friday calls.  They were WILD last week.  XPEV earnings out on Monday morning might give us a hint.
  • SPY/QQQ: We are smack on the 100 here at 453.  It’s still got room to go - and if it does - it should be right to 458 where it’s going to run into some headwinds.  If it gets there, I’m definitely taking out some puts.  I’ll trade calls 454 to 457.50 and just wait for it to start pulling back - can’t trust this SPY to go down, it’s a beast.
